Expeditionaries

Expeditionaries is a first-person RPG with procedurally generated levels where you lead a group of conquistadors exploring hostile territories. You have to beat missions as you craft materials, defeat enemies, and find treasures to take to your camp.

In terms of aesthetics the game draws on PC genre classics such as the Might and Magic saga or the early titles in The Elder Scrolls. Though the controls work in real time, if you don't move your character your enemies won't move, either, which allows you to take your time in developing your strategies. In addition to the battles and the exploration, you've also got to manage the resources you find to craft new tools that let you beat the most complicated challenges.

The game maps – both the open field and interior dungeon ones – generate randomly. That said, they are not fully interconnected with the rest of the world: you travel to them when you accept each mission and traverse them independently. The sense of uncertainty is permanent.

Expeditionaries is a fantastic adventure game that will delight veteran gamers with its classic 90s air that fits the Android platform like a glove thanks to the system of short missions that still convey the feeling of largeness from the old-school classics.
